Matt Trent unpacks an amazing incident in the life of Peter and the early church. The apostle James had been executed and Peter was imprisoned. What happens next was only possible through the delivering power of God! ,In the last chapter of his letter, James addresses people in different spiritual circumstances and speaks extensively about the wonderful blessing of prayer. We suggest you read James 5 before watching/listening to this lesson.
What important observations about the brevity of life does James make? Find out in this lesson. We suggest you read James 4 before watching/listening to this lesson.
James 3 focuses in on two major themes: the proper use of Christian speech, and God's wisdom. We suggest you read James 3 before watching/listening to this lesson.
Shahe Gergian continues his study of James into chapter two which is all about the error of showing favoritism and proclaiming to believe in God without manifesting good works. We suggest you read James 2 before watching/listening to this lesson.
Shahe Gergian presents some thoughts from the first chapter of James. We suggest you read James 1 before watching/listening to this lesson.
Much of the Bible is nearly impossible to understand without first investigating both the historical and literary contexts of each book within the Bible. In this lesson, Shahe considers two examples: The Lost Chapter of Jonah, and Running the Wrong Race. The way we read the Bible will dramatically impact how we understand and live out the will of God each and every day. In this lesson, Shahe explains how to approach Bible study in a way that promotes contextual readings. What does it mean to be a human living in a fallen condition? Is human depravity inherited from Adam? How does God deal with our ignorance and weaknesses? These are important questions that can shape our entire outlook on life, our service to God, and our optimism (or pessimism) about the hope we have in Christ. The Biblical doctrine of Justification has to do with how one is right with God. As sinners, even though many try to be right with God through various means, our only true hope is pardon which comes through Christ and the forgiveness of sins. But how can a sinner receive such pardon? The answer is faith as Clinton so powerfully explains in this sermon. For centuries Christians have echoed the words of Jesus from His model prayer, "your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven," but what does it actually mean for the Kingdom of God to come to the earth? Is this something yet future or a present reality? How is the Kingdom of God manifested? Find out in this second sermon from Clint's series on the Kingdom of God. Clinton has developed and presented a new and exciting 3-part series on the Kingdom of God which he says is the central theme of the Bible. This first lesson lays the groundwork by defining the expressions "Kingdom of God" or "Kingdom of Heaven" and highlighting what Jesus meant when He announced the arrival of the Kingdom. Sometimes Christians talk about trials and temptations in ways that are not very helpful and can maybe even be a bit misleading. Stuart Crouch invited me onto Real Biblical Application to address a key verse on this topic from 1 Corinthians 10, and I think the overall conversation we had will be helpful to you. |
