What does it mean to be a human living in a fallen condition? Is human depravity inherited from Adam? How does God deal with our ignorance and weaknesses? These are important questions that can shape our entire outlook on life, our service to God, and our optimism (or pessimism) about the hope we have in Christ. The Biblical doctrine of Justification has to do with how one is right with God. As sinners, even though many try to be right with God through various means, our only true hope is pardon which comes through Christ and the forgiveness of sins. But how can a sinner receive such pardon? The answer is faith as Clinton so powerfully explains in this sermon. What is the difference between a trial and a temptation, and if temptations come from the Evil One, why did Jesus teach His disciples to say to God: "do not lead us into temptation"? We hope you enjoy this last lesson on the Model Prayer. Forgiveness lies at the vert heart of Christ's message. In the Model Prayer, and throughout His ministry, Jesus talked about the urgent need for His followers to manifest the same kind of forgiveness to others that they ask of God. |
